ELF REGULATING HEATING CABLES

WinterGard Wet

Raychem WinterGard Wet heat trace cable is a professional-grade, 6-watt/foot, self-regulating electric heating cable designed to provide pipe freeze protection and roof and gutter de-icing for light commercial and residential locations. The electric heating cable is constructed of nickel-copper bus wires, a self-regulating conductive core, an insulating jacket, a tinned-copper braid and an outer polyolefin jacket. The benefits of using Raychem WinterGard Wet self-regulating heating cables are many:

  • Cable can be overlapped without burning itself out
  • Cable can be cut to length
  • Cable jacket is waterproof making it ideal for use in wet environments
  • Saves energy
  • Will not overheat roofing materials or plastic gutters

Additional Product Information:

  • Designed for use in dry areas only
  • Can heat pipes up to 6″ in diameter
  • UL Listed and CSA Certified for use in nonhazardous areas

Raychem Gardian

SELF REGULATING HEATING CABLES

Gardian

Raychem Gardian pre-assembled self-regulating heat trace cables are designed for pipe freeze protection of residential water pipes and small roof and gutter de-icing applications. They are available for 120 V and 240 V applications. Raychem Gardian 120 V cables are ideal for smaller jobs such as roof and gutter de-icing on porches and overhangs, as well as for pipe freeze protection on pipes up to 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Raychem Gardian 120 V cables are available in 6, 12, 18, 24, 50, 75 and 100 foot lengths, and each comes assembled with a 30-inch power cord and plug. Due to their short lengths, Raychem Gardian 240 V cables are designed only for pipe freeze protection applications on pipes up to 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Raychem Gardian 240 V heating cables are available in 6, 12, 18, and 24 foot lengths and each come assembled with a 30-inch power cord for terminating in a junction box. Additional Product Information:

  1. Designed for use on residential and commercial metal and plastic pipes
  2. 30-mA equipment or 5-mA personnel ground-fault protection must be used on each Gardian heating cable branch circuit

Raychem GIT-3A

ELECTRONIC TEMPERATURE CONTROLS CONTROL & MONITORING SYSTEMS

GIT-3A

The ETI GIT-3A Automatic Gutter Ice Melting Control is an electronic temperature controller provides intelligent, automatic operation of electric heat trace cables for de-icing applications thus insuring energy efficiency and low operating costs. The ETI GIT-3A senses both moisture and temperature conditions in the gutter or down spout thus assuring optimum control. De-icing heat trace cables operate at temperatures at or below 38º F (3.3º C) while moisture is present. Operation continues for a set period of time thereafter to insure complete melting. While operating, the heating cables are maintained at a nominal temperature of 38º F (3.3º C). A GIT-3A consists of a gutter-mounted sensor and a control enclosure connected by a 12′ 6″ (3.8 meter) cable. Line voltage and de-icing heater connections are located in the control enclosure. The GIT-3A operates from single-phase 120, 208/240 or 277 volt supply selected by an internal jumper connection that is set during installation. It controls single-phase de-icing heater loads of up to 26 amps. Additional information on ETI GIT-3A:

  1. The GIT-3A meets the new NEC Class 2 low voltage requirement for wet locations
  2. It is c-UL-us Listed.
